Q: How does it work?
A: InfusionSMS is a web-based tool that connects BoomText and Infusionsoft. BoomText is a powerful text message platform
but lacks the CRM and automation capabilities of Infuisonsoft. Infusionsoft is awesome but doesn't natively support text message marketing. InfusionSMS
integrates Infusionsoft and BoomText allowing you to send text messages from Infusionsoft, similar to the way you send email. You can send text messages
when someone fills out a form, when they click an automation link, and any time you run actions. Send text broadcasts or put texts in follow-up sequences.
You can also receive text messages and InfusionSMS will automatically create a contact record or match to an existing contact record.
Q: How do you use it?
A: When you create a text message in InfusionSMS, a unique URL will be generated. Inside of Infusionsoft, use the action "Send an HTTP post to another server",
paste the URL from InfusionSMS, run the actions. That's it.
Q: Can you use merge fields?
A: Of course. Its just as simple as merging information into emails in Infusionsoft. You can personalize your text messages by merging contact
record fields and custom fields into your messages.
Q: Do phone numbers need to be in a certain format?
A: Yes. BoomText requires the leading "1" for U.S. numbers and the preceding country code for international numbers. Inside of InfusionSMS we give you an
easy-to-use utility to add a "1" to phone numbers in your Infusionsoft account with a click of your mouse. There's no need to worry about dashes, parentheses, or any other
characters you use to format your phone numbers. InfusionSMS is smart enough to strip those out when sending.
Q: What happens when text messages are received?
A: Inside your BoomText account you have the ability to set up keywords. In InfusionSMS you can tie those keywords to action sets in Infusionsoft.
For example, you might tell people to text in the word "bonus". When they text in that keyword, you may want to tag them in Infusionsoft, start a follow-up sequence,
and assign a task to someone in your office to call the person. All you have to do is create the action set you want in Infusionsoft, then tie that action set to the
keyword in InfusionSMS.
